[it's the first night that the buses have come to return the survivors to their lives before yuggoth. though chie has solidly made her decision to return to inaba, she stays to maximize her time with those she's come to trust in this twisted land. it's hard to believe it's only been a month since their ordeal began, and that the bonds she's formed here have become strong enough for her to want to stay any longer.
one of those friends, of course, is her roommate.
they're back in room 108, almost like it was their arrival day all over again. the room is noticeably less lonely, she notes, now that she and seto are both alive again. she really had missed him, regretted his death happened before her own. but at least now, maybe they can properly say goodbye.
she's lying atop her bed, on her back and looking up at the ceiling whenever seto decides to retire for the night. as he opens the door, she pulls herself up into a seated position, greeting him with a wave.]
Going back to your multimillion yen corporation, huh, Mr. High School CEO?
[ The truth is? He still doesn't like the room all that much. But he supposes that having spent most of his nights in this room as a matter of self-preservation to evade almost certain death, it's difficult not to feel at least a little bit more at home in this small place.
It's purely out of habit that he retires to the room for the night, even though technically there's nothing that's stopping them from breaking curfew - it's not like someone is going to come and kill him again in the middle of the club.
There's a wry smile on his face when Chie sits up and greets him with a wave, and he almost returns the gesture - although in this case, it's more because he's closing the door behind him before shedding his coat, hanging it up by the hook on the door. ]
Of course. No rest for the wicked, as they say. [ The sigh that follows is probably exaggerated, not genuine exasperation. Even if what Craftly said is true and they'll return the moment they left, the point is that he's left for far too long, and he can't imagine the amount of buildup and what Mokuba has had to be doing in his leave of absence. ] Kurusu's given me some designs for a new line of cards and it'd be a shame not to actually do anything about them.
And yourself? Back to Inaba? Are you leaving tomorrow?
[ He still hasn't decided when to leave just yet. He would probably have been on the first bus out, actually, but there had been people that he'd wanted to speak to first before leaving, so he's made up his mind to take whichever bus is leaving after his business is concluded. ]
[chie laughs a little when seto mentions akira's name. knowing the kind of person he is... could lead to some interesting results.]
Well, you know what they say—inspiration comes from the weirdest places.
[while the mood remains light, especially given the past few weeks, chie's expression becomes a little more melancholy. pensive, maybe? inaba is where she belongs, but... she's almost reluctant to leave behind the bonds she's made here. but they're all going home in the end, aren't they?]
I'm definitely going back home, but... I dunno when I'm gonna leave yet. I might be one of the last.
